Its been a weird winter so far this year, hardly feels like winter at all actually. More like spring or something. Every year in February, we go over to Sussex for the Days Meeting on Sunday, and Sunday School Treat on Saturday evening. During the day Saturday, we usually hit the slopes at Poley Mountain. Its pretty awesome, because there's always a whole bunch of other people there for the weekend that I know.
Last year was the first time I tried Snowboarding, as opposed to skiing, but only at Brookvale. So this year, I decided to buy all my snowboard equipment! Anyway, Poley was the first time I got to try out my new board, AND the first time snowboarding at Poley ever. It was pretty awesome. The only thing was, it was raining all day. By the end of it, Everyone was soaked. I went through 3 pairs of mittens. My legs were thoroughly soaked and my feet were shriveled prunes when I peeled my steaming socks off. It may sound like a but of a bummer, but I was quite happy! It was starting to get quite nasty outside when the treat started at 6:00. The rain had turned to snow, and it was blowing. After the Treat, we went to this place to have a sing song. It was quite enjoyable!
Sunday, once again, went very well, and very quick. Before I knew it it was time to pack up and head out. I decided to go with Ruth, Kara, Melody, and Emily home, instead of traveling with my parents. Why end the weekend so soon? We all squeezed in to Ruth's Forte, and followed Joel back to The Island. It was a good trip back. When we got across the bridge, we went to the Esso where Emily had left her car for the weekend. All along joking that we wouldn't be able to find it amongst all the snow. "Wouldn't that be funny if it was covered by a snowbank!" hahaha
Ya, we laughed.
Until we got there.
And looked for the car.
We stared in dis-belief. There was no way her car was actually gone. We went inside only to find out that the car had been towed! She had checked for a no parking sign before she parked there, but failed to see the sign that said "15 minute parking only." Poor Emily. They got the number for Johnston's Towing, and we arranged to meet the guy. They made it very clear that they do not usually offer such services on the weekend. Thanks guys. We finally got everything straightened out, and we were all headed to our respective homes after a wonderful weekend!!
