Family pic

I've done a few family pictures in the weeks preceding Christmas. We also got our family picture taken. Since all the Christmas cards have been mailed out, it's safe to show the picture now (I think).

This was the one we picked in the end. :)

Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

I am now the proud owner of a lime green, Mitsubishi Eclipse! I got it a few weeks before Christmas! It's a 2000, has a Five speed manuel transmission, v6, duel exhaust, sunroof, etc. It's a little smashed, but should be up and running by the time I get my license in July (hopefully before though). We'll likely start doing work on it in March, after dad is done in the woods for the winter. So exctied!!!

I'm Back!

Work, School, Meetings. Work, School, Meetings. It's a vicious cycle I've been running in, like a hamster on a wheel. It is kind of scary when you think of it. The days have been literally flying by. Would you believe tomorrow is 2012?!?
Well, I've kept you in the dark long enough, I'm sure you are all DYING to know just what I've been doing in the past month. Okay, Okay, I'll tell you then.
At the first of the month, December 1st-5th, we took a road trip down to Boston, Massachusetts, for their annual Bible Conference. My parents went with the MacLeod's, a couple from Charlottetown, and I went down with Ruth and 3 other gals, Melody, Hannah, and Lydia W (who actually ended up going in the 15 passenger, which I'm getting to). So, there was also 11 people in a 15 passenger van, who we traveled with. My cousin Joel, ended up coming with us for most of the trip, as a second (more like first) driver for Ruth. We left the island at around 6:45 Thursday evening. We drove all through the night. The fear came upon us at around 2:30 in the morning that we would run out of gas. There were plenty of gas stations- but none of them were open! Finally, near Bangor, we found a Tim Horton's (24 hr) and they gave directions to a fuel stop. We all stopped for a food and bathroom break at Tim's, before heading out again. I slept off and on for a good total of 4 hours Throughout the night-long trip. I woke up as we were going through the twisty road to the Stefl's (where all the guys would be staying). They didn't seem to mind in the least that it was 5:00 in the morning, bless their hearts. They welcomed us all in, like orphans to an orphanage. Us girls (there was 7 of us) made up little beds in the family room, and I was out once again, like a light. I never heard, saw, or dreamed a thing until 9:00, when the smell of bacon wafted up the stairs.
We did some sight-seeing Friday, as well as a bit of shopping. The 5 of us girls, stayed the weekend at my friend Briana's. What amazing food we were presented with! The whole weekend was like a haven of superlative nurishment! They all sure know how to eat down there! We headed back to PEI Monday morning, and stopped in Kittery for shopping for 2 hours.
Let me see, what came next.... Oh ya, Cousin French, who also went to Boston, came back to the island on Monday. We got together a few times throughout the week, for some laughter and craziness.

If you want to count you can, but I'll save you the trouble. There was 20 of us (all of whom are Canadian! haha) The 16 of us who traveled together in Ruth's car and the 15 passenger, plus 4 guys from Ontario, who were staying at the Stefl's.

Quebec With The Cousins

I've been wanting to go visit Cousin French (Micheal) up in the nation of Quebec for some time. Finally, on the long weekend, I got my chance! Joel was going to visit his folks, so he allowed me and our other crazy cousin Luke, to go with him. We drove his sister Stacey's Saturn up, instead of his car, because she needed to get snow tires put on up there. We left on Thursday at around 3:30. After gassing up, we headed across the fixed link, through New Brunswick, and after around 4 hours of enjoying one another's company, we made it to Kent Building Supplies in Cambellton, NB. Micheal and Uncle Serge were getting off work soon after we got there at 8:30, so we waited around for them. We drove another 1/2 hour to get to the Leger's Home, in Nouvelle, Quebec. Micheal was hungry after work, so Luke and I went with him to a little restaurant 2 minutes away and ordered le poutine mouiller. It was a french restaurant. It was scrumptious. We weren't ready to go home yet, so we just did some driving around in the dark and rain, stopping to take a few pictures. When we finally came back to the house, we just visited with each other, and kept each other entertained, as usual. By the time Micheal got the cat out from under my bed and almost got stuck himself,  It was pretty late.
Finding the way around "Texting while driving" :D

I like this picture, Cousin French.
It felt good to sleep in Friday morning. I had some Dejeuner then went down to wake the lazy bones up. Talk about hard to get out of bed! When they finally were up and at it, Cousin French took Luke and I for a rather srapey canoe ride. The water was really too low to be canoeing on, but we tried it out anyway. It was fun nonetheless! The funny thing was, in the next 15 minutes, when we were done, the river rose a couple feet! We didn't feel like canoeing anymore, so we went on his raft instead. In the afternoon, we went to the top of a mouton, and looked down at all the houses, and stuff, freezing the whole time. Next we went to the same warf we went to the evening before, and took some more pictures.

Shortly after we got back to the house, I made a chocolate surprise for dessert. As I was making it, Paul and Melonie Robertson arrived with their 4 kids, Victoria, Jenna, Megan and Nathan. We ate really quickly, because we had to leave to go to the free skate at 7:00. It was my first time skating since last year! It was so fun! That evening, after we ate our dessert, we played a prank on my friend Kara, with the cell phone then played a short game of Scum, then got sorta bored. That's when we decided to play the arms game. It was complete hilarity!
Love these girls!!! :)

It was another late night, so I slept in once again the next morning. The girls and I had a good talk, well into the night. Aunt Hazel made an immaculate breakfast, to start the day off. We did some exploring outside. Then came back in the house until after lunch. Around 3:00 or so, we went back to the mountain to do a hike. I REALLY enjoyed the hike! Next time I go back, I plan to do a lot more hiking! It got dark really quickly, so we went back to the house for supper. After supper, us young people played "What would you do if", and "Psychiatrist". There was lots of laughing going on!! It was so much fun! Since I had to work at 5:00 Monday morning, and had to wake up at 4:30 Sunday morning too, I wanted to get to bed earlier Saturday night. At 10:00, I threw in the towel, ignoring the cries of protest from the good-timers. haha

Lydiaraynor.com

My extended website is now up and ready to go. It's not all that exciting right yet, but hopefully it will get better as time goes on. The thing I'm most excited about, is the Salvation Stories page. Check it out!

Also you may have noticed that my blog address is now lydiaraynor.com instead of .blogspot.com.

Rehab

Is there such thing as blogger therapy? You could probably make good money at it. Taking in the two extremes: The Blog-happy blogger and the post-poning posts blogger (that would be the category I would fall into right now). Anyway, enough musing for now, we'll head into the updates.
So whats mew with me? Well lets see, got a new job at the Richmond Esso, got my beginners, so I can drive (!!!!!!), My grandmother Jones (from across the pond) came for a short little visit on Saturday (she left today), did schoolwork, slept, had an awesome time at Treasure Seekers last week, got an Ipod, jogged a few times, finished a wedding DVD, baked some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and raked some leaves. It kept me entertained for a while.
On Sunday I went down to Charlottetown with Ruth for the the day. After meeting they had a superb meal at the Hall, then did some planning with Uncle Pete for their Treasure Seekers this week. Afterwards, Me, Ruth, Emily, Rachel, Kara, Melody, Andrea and Wilma went to the trailer park to hand out invitations. It was a good time. We stopped at Cows to reward ourselves with a Staff cone. yum, yum, 1 scoop Pralines & cream, 1 scoop oreo, in a dish with a cone on top. Got it down pat now. Except I usually get Moo York Cheesecake instead of Oreo if they have it. We picked up Timmy in Winsloe, and drove to Freetown for meeting. It was a good meeting. We went to see Aunt Lila for a minute, then went to Wendy's/Tim Horton's, where I got a bagel and Cappuccino. We were about to leave, when Joel showed up in the parking lot. We had a bit of a chat, and he told us to come to his place for a bit. So, we agreed to stay for TEN MINUTES. Ya right..... Almost two hours later we said our goodbyes, knowing we were in for a rough Monday morning.

Pictures will be alotted at a later date. Au Revoir. :)

Showers of Blessing

What a marvellous weekend! Saturday Timmy obeyed the Lord in baptism, and on Sunday, 2 more people that I know, started on their way to Heaven!
After the baptism, there was prayer meeting and ministry at the Springfield Gospel Hall. Pete Smith from Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, gave the ministry.
Sunday morning the news reached my ears that a young man from South Africa, trusted Christ as his Saviour! There was no news I would have rather heard. God is so good! Sunday afternoon we had a very good prayer meeting, and some excellent ministry. The Gospel followed later on that evening. It was during that Gospel meeting that my younger brother Bennett, got saved! He didn't tell us until he was going to bed that night.
This is so encouraging, as we are having a week of special children's meetings (Treasure Seekers) with Uncle Pete (Pete Smith). Much effort and prayer have gone into this week, and your prayers would be greatly appreciated as well. It was such a refreshing reminder from the Lord this weekend, that He is able to do more than we ask or think!
The crowd starting to gather for the baptism.

Yes it sure was windy and on the cold side.

Hold on to your hats!

Too cute.
