Back On The Road

After the crash on Saturday, the car is back on the road! the front windshield is back in, but the side window and mirror aren't on yet. They will be in soon.

Angela's idea to put Saran wrap on the window hole.

Back behind the wheel (thats a scary thought)

Yesterday Mom and I went down to help Wilma do some landscaping work at Danny and Marty Murphy's house in Stanhope P.E.I. For anyone who doesn't know, Danny murphy owns all the Tim Horton's on PEI, along with a bunch of other companies and businesses. His wife, Marty, owns a bunch of Wendy's restaurants and a Tim Horton's out in Fort Mac, AB. We went to work on the flower beds after we took in the sight of the humongous spread they have. Behind the house they have a huge stable full of horses and some other animals, like pigs, a bunch of dogs and 2 peacocks!! We got to go into a little part of their house just to use the bathroom. It has HUGE like 15 foot ceilings maybe taller. It is beautiful! As we were working their kids were driving by on their mopeds and 4-wheelers and stuff. There was a bunch of people at the stables, and a bunch of tents were set up around the place, as they were getting ready for a big horse show. We did the best we could, weeding out the overgrown flower beds, and trying to shape up the weed population, but there was still some beds left untouched when we left, because there was simply not enough time. We had to go pick up Kara at Cows, so we happily trooped in to Canada's #1 Ice Cream place, looking like we just came from playing in the dirt or something. Explosive windswept hair, dirt-stained hands, brown knees and sneakers. We enjoyed the cones just as well. When we rushed back to the MacLeod's, we shoveled in some supper, and had to leave again to go to Montague for the tent meeting. Mom went back home to go to the tent meeting in Unionvale. Meeting was EXCELLENT! Both preachers were on fire. On the way back, I hitched a ride with Ruth in her car, along with Melody, and Emily. We decided to have a little visit at the Hyde's, which turned into a long visit. Rosal, who is visiting here for a few weeks was also there, because she's staying at their house for a bit. We had a wonderful time, and only broke out of there at 11:40. Pulling out of their driveway, a sight met our eyes, well more like a light met our eyes. That light would happen to be the gas light. Yep, at 11:40pm. Luckily for us, as we were coming up to Summerside, Ruth had the bright idea to check the Ultramar. And wadda ya know, it was open! In case your wondering, the Ultramar in Summerside is open 24hrs, just to let you know. By the time I got home, it was 12:45. I slept in until 10:45 this morning, the longest since like..... I don't know. Its been a while anyway.

Mr. Danny Murphy's residence. Not too shabby.

Wilma did all the flower beds around the house! She's some good!

They were having a horse sow that week. 12,00 people would be there. See that truck, it was full of square bags of wood shavings for the horse stalls! Thats a LOT of shavings!

The back of the spread. Gorgeous!

The "flower bed" before. More like a weed bed.

...AND AFTER!

Lunch time. Having a picnic on Danny Murphy's back yard. What a priveledge.

Boston Ivy.

At the end of the day, this was the trailer-full of weeds we were left with.

Rosal graced us with some piano playing at Harvey and Carol's after meeting.

What a Full Day!

Well it started bright and early with a knock on my door at 6:45am, to wake up and go to the yard sale on Saturday. There was lots of people came to look at, and buy our junk! At 9:45 I started to walk to work, for 10:00. I worked for a while, until 12:45, and the store closed for an hour for the P.E.I. Potato Blossom Festival Parade at 1:00! Me and Hannah, who was working with me all day, walked to The Burden's yard for front row seats. We lined up with all the girls clad with plastic bags to fill with candy, hoping we'd get some of the over-flow. 40 minutes of candy-throwin, hand-wavin, bicycle-peddling, Horse-haulin fun ensued, and Hannah and I made our way back to work, following the parade up the street, catching more candy as we went. At shortly before 3:00, I got off work, and put my life in my hands getting picked up by Cousin French and Cousin Luke. We went to the Mill River camp ground for the Sunday School picnic. What a great group of people were there! We played a bunch of games, as usual, and nothing major happened. Chris Becker spoke with the kids. Supper was wonderful. At the very end, the annual water fight broke out, and very few were spared to remain in their dry state. The plan after the picnic, was the traditional beachfront bonfire and swimming out in Hebron. Not until the big, black clouds rolled in, and the rain started falling heavily, did we start to get our hopes down, that there indeed, may not be a bonfire. First year ever. Since I've been living on this earth. Wow. We sat in the house trying to plan other festivities, determined not to let the weather hinder our fun. We were thinking so hard, none of us could come up with anything to do. So we ate a marshmallow. It was to no avail. It eventually stopped raining, and a few die-hard swimmers from Milo called up to see if we were up for some swimming. Ruth was skeptical. Joel was hesitant. Micheal was just standing around. I didn't care. As we readied ourselves for the water, Joel got a call on his cell phone. Now, to protect the little dignity this person has left, I will not mention any names through the next part of this story. All me and Ruth heard was Joel say, "Are you serious?" and "How bad?" before he flew out the door into his car. Me and Ruth ran out after, to try and get informed. No luck. We tried to follow Joel, but we lost him as he left the driveway. Anyways, skipping ahead, someone's car ended up on its roof in the ditch back on the dirt road. Uncle David got Aunt Peggy's tractor out to pull the vehicle out. We all thought it would be toast. That car has 9 lives, let me tell ya! Other than a smashed front window that was damaged when it hit a random T.V. set sitting in the ditch when it rolled (you know your a redneck when...), smashed drivers door window and drivers side mirror, she worked like a charm again! The other amazing thing besides that, is that the 2 people in the car when it crashed were not harmed in the least, despite many ignorant actions on their part. They are lucky to be alive really. God is good, and He's always watching! :)

Junksale- er ah Yardsale.

Lonely, I'm Mrs. Lonely...

No, actually I'm not, but I had that song going through my head. I am, however, here at home, all by my self. Mom and the monkey are in New Brunswick (yes, they went back AGAIN) and are coming home tomorrow, and dad is working evenings, so he won't be home until 11:30. In the absence of people in the household, I thought I'd take advantage, and do some cleaning!! I've been in the mood to clean and tidy all day. On saturday, there's gonna be a yard sale at Sally and Dale's yard, so I'm getting a bunch of junk for it. Man our house is full of junk!

I felt like organizing the kitchen first.

I took everything out of the cupboard.

Then I had a bit of a setback. Guess I have to vaccum too. Don't tell mom...

Fabulous Fun & Fresh Fruits

We arrived home at shortly after 1:00 am last night (this morning if you want to be all technical), from a great week spent in N.B. Since the last time I posted, I went to more childrens' meetings, the sunday school picnic and a sing song. Lets start with Friday. At lunchtime or shortly after, mom dropped me off at the Jones' house in Sussex, where Keirsten and I walked down to Wal-mart and a few other stores. When we got back, we went for a dip in the neighbors pool. That night at Treasure Seekers, it was prize night, so all the kids got to pick their prize. We set up the tent when we got back, in which we slept over night. At 8:00 Saturday morning, a little too early for my liking, we got up to get ready to go to their Sunday School picninc. Laura, our chauffer, arrived at 8:55 promtly, we picked up Moriah, and headed out to Camp Talacatic (?) for the Picnic. We did a bit of prep work, until people started arriving a little after 10:00. I joined in with the kids to play a bunch of games since there wasn't an overly large crowd of kids. It was pretty fun. I was starving when lunch finally rolled around, and we could dig in to the bbq food. After lunch, was the Bible lesson, by my dad. At 2:00, the lifegaurds arrived so all the kids could go out on the lake for some water fun!!! It was a blast!!! By the time they called us all back in, we were getting quite tired! We went back home with Laura, and she showed us around her house. Mom came with us too, and got the brainstorm to go to work on Laura's fromt flower bed. Boy, did we ever give it a goin over! I had very little energy when I got back to the house, but I managed to go for a jog, which I got caught in the rain, once again. I'm a rain magnet. Needless to say, I had a good sleep that night!! Sunday went much as usual. We went to Gerald and Ruth Gallagher's for a wonderful turkey dinner, and strawberry shortcake for dessert! That evening was the first night of a series of tent meetings a half hour from Sussex with Murray McCandless and different local brethren helping out, from 7:30 to 8:30. There was a big crowd out for the first night, and the tent was full! Tim and Mindy had a sing song at their house afterwards, and Dad played the pianer. By the time we left there, it was 10:45pm. We arrived home at 1:15am Monday Morning.
Lunch time at grammies. Mom fits right in at the trailer park! :)

Food at the sing song Sunday night, at Tim and Mindy's.

I slept in this morning and it felt good. As the day progressed, I picked strawberries from the garden, as well as fresh lettuce and brought it in for dinner. My mouth was just-a-waterin! Let me tell you, I had some good feed on that fresh salad! Just simply delightful!!!
I went for a quick dunk in the pool, then it was time to head off to work for 4:00.

Table of the firtsfruits of the lettuce!

Mouth-watering
