Injuries

Life is full of them. There are many variable factors in how many injuries you receive in your lifetime, such as your level of clutziness, craziness, stupidness, observation skills, communicative skills etc. etc. Having been a witness to many of my brothers fatalities, I don't feel as though I've encountered too many injuries in my lifetime, nor do I expect to. Injuries can be totally pointless, or be very rewarding, but that's something you have to decide yourself. Believe it or not, injuries are crucial to our society. Just think, how many people wouldn't have a job, if people didn't get injured. 3/4 of the nurses, doctors and other hospital workers would be unemployed, lawyers would have substantially less clients wanting to sue the people supposedly "responsible" for their injuries, Band-Aid companies would go out of business and many other areas would suffer. Without further ado, here is the injury hall of fame.

Old Fashioned Shoot

Well, shots were being fired around here in Enmore (in more ways then one, but we won't get into that), all day on Monday! The Charlottetowners came up to the rolling hills of Enmore, and we decided to have a little fun, with a photo shoot idea.

Wedding couple #1.
Wedding couple #2. Slightly more excited to be getting married by the looks of things.

Happy Grooms.

My, what white teeth you have!

Braces

Surprise! Who could have guessed that this post would be about braces? Well sir! I went to Dr. McManaman's office yesterday for my 12:30 appointment, with mixed emotions. As I got further and further along though, I must say, my excitement started mounting. It was a bit of a long process, especially when they put the wrong brackets on my top 6 teeth, which had to be removed, and other clear ones put on instead. All in all though, it was quite a painless process. I love Doc Braces. Basically all I can eat now is liquids, and anything that breaks down my sucking on it. This is thanks to the "bite buttons" on my 2 back teeth, to make sure I don't bite down and break off a bracket or something. So, I've been sitting here eating my yogurt for the past 20 minutes, because it has little bits of fibre cereal in it and it requires a bit of chewing.

And in other news, we set the pool up last week, anticipating warmer weather, which hasn't as yet, come along. We went swimming the other day, for like 3 minutes because the water was only 14 degrees. It felt like it was 3 degrees. :)
First we raked the dirt.

Then we carried and cleaned all of the poles. Remember, poles are dangerous, always wear a helmet! Safety first!

Clean off the tarp that goes under the pool, but on top of the dirt.

Roll out the pool onto the tarp.

Add in the poles and you've got yourself a pool!

Filling the pool.

Home stretch!

I'm on the home-schooling home stretch! The last few days I've been just drivin' er to get my work finished for this year. Ordinarily, I'd be done a long time ago, but for some reason, I'm a little later (I wonder why?? :)) So, until Monday, I probably won't have any posts, unless I get my work done before that.
Its been 24 hours since I've last eaten, and man am I looking forward to some pizza... tomorrow. Nope, its not an eating disorder, I'm fasting for a liver cleanse. I think everyone should do one, they are good for you (every once in a while). I've had nothing but apple juice and water ALL DAY. The hardest part of the day was at lunch.... and supper. Watching everyone eating those beautiful pieces of nourishing, taste exploding, pieces of pizza- it was almost too much to bear. but I gritted my teeth, took a few swigs of apple juice and held myself in check, with a mental count down til breakfast. Only 11 hours now!!
Oh ya, I talked to beloved Hans and Rachelle down there in SA, today on Skype! They were "storm stayed" at Mark and Gwen's, as it was raining so heavy the road was immobile. I don't think they minded too much. Well then, back to the books I go!

God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us. Selah
That Your way may be known on earth
Your Salvation among all nations.

Let the peoples praise You, O God;

Bring On The Sunshine

What nice, warm, sunny days we've had here the last 3 days! It really gives renewed energy after such long periods of dull weather. Going back now to the archives of my schedule, on Saturday, after work, we headed over to a reception of my cousin. We had a good time there, lots of good food, and family fellowship. Cousin Michael even took me and Cousin Bradley out for a ride to celebrate his newly acquired  card that says "permis de conduire". Only after we saw the Bloomfield Kent Building Supplies, did we go back to the reception. The next morning was Sunday (as usual), and much to my chagrin, I was scheduled to work. We were having dinner at the Hall as a go away party for Hans and Rachelle. I snuck some food from different dishes for lunch, before driving in to work. When I arrived at work, and expressed my desire to be back at the Hall, I was splendidly surprised to learn that they would let me go for a  while! I gladly went! I worked the rest of the afternoon, then went to Dale and Sally's until the Villa at 6:00.

I stayed at Dale and Sally's Sunday night, and walked up to work for 8:30 the next morning. That evening for supper, we were graced with the presence of Andrew and Pam, who were accompanied by the Barnes' from the UK. We had bbq chicken and pork and a bunch of other stuff. Turtle cake was for dessert! I went for a 40 minute run afterwards, the first time back jogging in a week! It felt good. Tuesday morning I got up bright and early (for me) at 6:20. We are having a guy in grade 5 come to our house in the mornings and after school, I wanted to meet him. He's a great kid, we hit it off right away!

Hans and Rachelle will soon be arriving in South Africa!! So exciting!  And by the way, thanks for the headphones in the mailbox Ruth! :)
