Toronto Road Trip

So, after putting in a 3 hour shift at work Wednesday morning, I got myself out of there as soon as possible. I had a slight setback when we had to fish for the key that I dropped under the deck, but fortunately dad got it out without too much difficulty. By 3:00, we were on our way to the Thomas's house, where we met up with Kara. An hour after crossing the Bridge of Confederation, we picked up Anne-Charlotte, in Aulack. It seemed like no time before we arrived at our overnight crashing pad, the Cormiers. We were too pumped to go to bed early, so only at 11:30 we decided to call it a day.
4:00 AM- Woke up from my 4 and a half hour cat-nap, rip-roaring ready to go! At 5:00 we picked up Uncle Rico (Reuben), and the mini-van with the Fisher Price picnic table strapped to the roof was on its way. We had an awesomely entertaining group that kept us all laughing the whole route up to Toronto. Our rears were getting pretty tender by the time we finally rolled the caravan into the spectacular Ussher household at 7:30PM Thursday evening. The 7 of us were warmly welcomed by Rachel Ussher, who was in the midst of cutting her front lawn, with the push mower. We made ourselves right at home down in their basement, lugging in all of our belongings.
It was a nice sunny, warm day Friday, which was a relief from all the rain we've had in the Maritimes lately. The first thing I did was go for a jog with Kara around the neighbourhood and such. We were back and in the van ready to go by 10:00, but Troy and Paul were slightly late. The plan was to go to catch the subway downtown, and chill there for the ultimate Toronto experience. At 2:30 we all met back together, had some lunch, then went outside to wait for our chauffeur. Our pick-up was most hurried, as Paul pulled the mini van up to the curb and we all swiftly jumped in. We struggled through the traffic, and made it back to the house in good time for a scrumptious supper. That night there was the first session of the conference with Marcus Cain speaking.
