See Ya Next Week Baby

Today was a warm day, not as far as South African temperatures go, but warm none the less. I think I would rather the heat though, because the other option would be -20 degrees back home! At 2:45, Mark, Elaine and I jumped in the old bakky and away we went to Semour for Sunday School. I was in the back of the bakky, which you might not think would be too enjoyable, but when you never get to do it in Canada, you jump at the chance. One thing about Semour is the view. The drive there is gorgeous, with mountain veiws, and blue sky, but the town itself is amazing. All the little houses, built within close range of each other, all different colors, nestled with mountains all around. As you look down from the top of the village, you can see a beautiful river at the bottom. People on the street always wave as you drive by. There was more kids this week than there was last week at the Sunday school, because last week there was a town meeting going on. Mark told the story about the woman at the well, then we asked questions. The kids don't speak much English, so Mark mostly spoke in Xhosa, and he'd translate the questions occationally too. At the end, we played a game of hangman, first in Xhosa, then in English. At the end of the meeting, I was sitting in the truck with Elaine, waiting for Mark, and this 13 year old guy, with his hand over his friends shoulder, pursed his lips in a kissing motion, and said, "See ya next week baby." Elaine and I looked at each other, and she laughed, there was no way I was encouraging him, so I didn't laugh! We headed from there to a street to do some open air, and we had a good turn out. Supper was almost ready when we got home, and boy, was it ever delicious! Chicken, potatoes, butternut, and cabbage and cauliflower. We ended off the evening with a good game of soccer! I should sleep well tonight!
